Gas Tax Proposal
The idea that suspending the Gas Tax for the summer is going to make any actual difference is ridiculous.
The Gas Tax is 18.4 cents a gallon. Assuming the average consumer uses 20 gallons of gas a week, thats a measly $3.68 off per week for 4 months.
Spare me the semantics. Exxon Mobil and Shell are posting record breaking all time quarterly profits while every cent of income is getting...

jakoblodwick: Sad news. I consider occasional mushroom trips an essential part of living, just like regular trips (traveling). They allow you to zoom out and evaluate your life from a completely different perspective. They’re fun, natural, and, from the many times I’ve done them, completely safe (especially compared to, say, alcohol). A city which allows them to be freely sold is a...

Tom Hayden Charges Fox News-Clintons Conspiracy
sds:
Tom Hayden, writing in The Nation:
It is abundantly clear that the Clintons, working with FOX News and manipulating old Clinton staffers like George Stephanopoulos, are trying, at least unconsciously, to so damage Barack Obama that he will be perceived as “unelectable” to Democratic superdelegates. It is also clear that the campaign of defamation against Obama has resulted in higher...

If you’re an Obama supporter and can afford to do so, consider donating to his campaign today.
Want to change politics? Vote with your dollars. It sucks that the country is run this way, but it is, and contributing to a campaign is (sadly) the best way to make your vote count.

Thanks, Soup
I would recommend PS3. Xbox 360 has reached it’s peak as far as game graphics/performance etc., where as developers have barely reached the PS3 hardware’s limits. Oh yea, it doubles as a free Blu-Ray...

working all day in my garden. Last year I learned a ton, from my own mistakes and from a neighbor that has experience running a produce co-op. My space is roughly 45ft long by 25ft wide, giving me the room to grow a ton of great stuff, and a bunch of it at that.
This year I am utilizing the Wide Row Method, which I put in today. They are roughly 3 and half ft wide by 15 ft long each. All winter...

FBI Lied To Support Need For PATRIOT Act Expansion →

“It probably won’t surprise you, but in 2005, the FBI manufactured evidence to get the power to issue National Security Letters under the PATRIOT Act. Unlike normal subpoenas, NSLs do not require probable cause and you’re never allowed to talk about having received one, leading to a lack of accountability that caused them to be widely abused. The EFF has discovered via FOIA requests...

Here’s an interesting idea. Mark Pesce did the math back in 2005 and found that for the price of one (of many) ad spots on popular tv programs, an advertiser could actually buy the whole episode and distribute it themselves. This would mean that they got the sole ad spot, and they could brand it however they please, like putting a “bug” (like tv channels put their logo in a corner)...
